GBI CEO — Mr Tim Oldfield
Tim Oldfield began his business career back in the early eighties and quickly became successful with a large Australian distribution company. From there his adventures and business interests lead him to America where he set up other businesses, attracting local and international investors. Tim then began the ‘Gold Rush’ business in America, setting up carts in major shopping centres across the country. Once the business was established he set his sights on home shores again, bringing his unique business model back to Australia and New Zealand in early 2009. Since then, expansion has continued to show promise into Asia, Europe, Scandinavia, South America, Latin America and South Africa with further opportunities planned in each region.

GBI Managing Director — Mr Peter Jennings
Peter Jennings has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from The University of Western Australia. After successfully setting up a chain of real estate sales and development offices in Western Australia, Peter moved into the pharmaceutical business, opening a chain of very successful pharmacies on the East and West coasts of Australia.
In 2009 Peter joined Tim Oldfield setting up Gold Buyers International. Together they have built up GBI to be one of the largest gold buyers in the world.
GBI CFO — Mr Doug West
Doug West qualified as a chartered accountant in England in 1963. His business career began in the early seventies and he quickly became successful starting a Printing and Publishing business with three partners. In 1981 he sold his shares and emigrated to Australia. His business interests eventually led to a meeting with Tim during the time when Tim was operating the Cash Converters business in America. When Tim decided to bring his unique Goldbuyers business model back to Australia in early 2009 he asked Doug to join him as CFO. Since then, the expansion into other countries has brought many opportunities and challenges.
Asia-Pacific Manager — Mr Olivier Claes
Olivier leads GBI operational management in the Asia-Pacific region. He is responsible for driving sales and profit plans to budget through leadership, organizational plans, customer service, and for execution of all field operations strategies. Moreover, Olivier performs a key role in the preparation and setup of new ventures.
Olivier obtained the qualification of Diamond Grader from the International Gemological Institute, Belgium (2008).
In 2009, he qualified as Financial Planner through Kaplan Professional, Australia.
Furthermore, he was recognized for undergraduate accomplishments in the fields of Engineering and Commerce completed at the University of Queensland and the University of the Sunshine Coast respectively.
